bacteriostatic water is sterile water that usually contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, used as a diluent to dissolve substances for research purposes, and intended for laboratory research only (Research Use Only).
What is bacteriostatic water?
Bacteriostatic water is not a peptide and is not an active substance in itself. The preservative (benzyl alcohol) is intended to inhibit bacterial growth after the vial is opened, so that the same vial can be used for multiple withdrawals over time, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Using bacteriostatic water for reconstitution
