It has been studied mainly in pre-clinical models of tissue, tendon and ligament, blood-vessel and digestive-system healing, and is intended <strong>for laboratory research only (Research Use Only)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>What is BPC-157?<\/h2>\n<p>BPC-157 is defined in the literature as a stable gastric pentadecapeptide \u2014 a stable sequence associated with protective proteins in the digestive system, and its name is an abbreviation of Body Protection Compound. Research interest in it grew out of many pre-clinical studies that examined its effect in models of wounds, tendon and ligament injuries, angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), nerve injury and inflammatory processes.<\/p>\n<h2>BPC-157 in research \u2014 mechanism &amp; evidence<\/h2>\n<p>Studies suggest possible involvement of BPC-157 in angiogenesis pathways, in the nitric oxide (NO) response, in cell migration and in the remodeling of collagen and extracellular matrix \u2014 processes important for the repair of connective tissue. In a study on tendon cells the peptide was found to increase cell survival, migration and spreading.<\/p>\n<p>Note: the level of evidence in humans is significantly lower than in animal models, and there are no large clinical trials establishing efficacy or safety in humans.
